Killed Because He Was A Punk
On the 12th of December 1997, outside a popular Ihop restaurant in Amerillo, Texas, local jocks were facing off against the local punk community. Dustin Camp was a well liked person and star of the high school football team, he was there in his 83 Cadillac. When the brawl looked to die down Camp drove around and noticed Brian Deneke who was 19 at the time and purposely ran him over leaving him to die instantly. Horrifically everyone was cheering and Camp said “I’m a ninja in my Caddy i bet he liked that”
The trial was even more shocking, Dustin Camp was charged with 1st Degree Murder but only found guilty of voluntary vehicular manslaughter and sentenced to ten years probation sentenced to 10 years probation and a $$$$$ fine. Defense portrayed the punks as thugs and that Camp was an outstanding community member, even though a female who was in the car testified against him.
Early Life
Brian Deneke was born in 1978 in Kansas at the height of the English punk movement, but in the early 80s the family relocated to Texas. Even though Deneke dropped out of high school he got his GED at 17. As an avid skateboarder Brian got deeper into the punk community, he was lead singer of a band called The White Slave Traders and had ambition on being a musician, even playing and putting on local gigs. His family were not happy with his lifestyle as they were worried about the bullying, repping a mohawk and studded leather jacket Deneke was a target for local jocks.
